Longtime scientific leader recognized for role shaping the company's delivery standards from its earliest days.
Rancho BioSciences today announced that Tania Khasanova, PhD, has been appointed Chief Delivery Officer. In this role, Khasanova will lead the curators, bioinformaticians, ontologists, data engineers, and data scientists who deliver value for Rancho's clients across the drug discovery and development lifecycle.
The creation of the Chief Delivery Officer role reflects the expanding scope and increasing complexity of Rancho’s client engagements. While the Chief Commercial Officer is responsible for driving new business, the Chief Delivery Officer will provide dedicated leadership for the execution and delivery of that work. Together, the two roles create a balanced leadership structure designed to support projects that increasingly span multiple scientific and technical disciplines across the company.
"As our engagements grow larger and more complex, delivering at Rancho's standard of excellence requires a clear owner with a clear mandate," said Chris O'Brien, CEO of Rancho BioSciences. "Naming Tania to this role makes that structure explicit."
Khasanova joined Rancho as one of the company's first employees and has played a central role in its growth ever since. Over the course of her tenure, she has set the scientific standards that Rancho's delivery teams operate under today.
"Tania has trained a generation of Rancho scientists and turned delivery into something our clients can count on," said O'Brien. "Nobody who has worked with her will be surprised by this news."
"Our clients bring us harder questions than they did five years ago," said Khasanova. "Answering them takes curators, data scientists, ontologists, and engineers working the same problem at the same time. Building the teams that can do that is the work I care most about."
Khasanova holds a PhD in physical organic chemistry and completed postdoctoral research at UC Irvine. She has spent more than twenty years in the life sciences data industry, with prior roles at GeneGo, Thomson Reuters, and BioFocus. She holds three US patents and has authored more than fifteen papers.
