At Rancho BioSciences, we talk a lot about the power of clean, harmonized data to accelerate discovery and success for our clients. And as the leader of the People team at Rancho, I know there is one dataset that matters above all others when it comes to building a sustainable, high-performing organization: the feedback we receive directly from our own people.
I’m incredibly proud to share that Rancho has officially been certified as a Great Place to Work® for the fifth year in a row. Because this recognition is based entirely on an anonymous, third-party survey, it is a genuine measure of our workplace health. For a fast-growing, fully remote company, maintaining this level of cultural consistency year after year is a remarkable achievement. I’m grateful to all our Ranchers around the world who make it possible.
As someone who joined this incredible team a little over a year ago, I recognize that I inherited a cultural foundation that was already deeply special. It’s a key part of what brought me into the organization. For me, this recognition isn't just a celebration. It is a reminder of my responsibility in how we preserve, grow, and extend the unique elements that make our organization amazing, ensuring our employee experience scales seamlessly alongside our business growth.
Outpacing the Benchmark
When we look at the data from this year’s survey, the numbers paint a clear picture of what makes our culture distinct. In three of the most critical categories of the Trust Index™ framework, we didn't just score well—we scored 90%+, outpacing the Top 100 Best Places to Work benchmark group by several points and increasing our score over last year:
Enablement, Empowerment, and Removing Bureaucracy
Operating a fully remote, and increasingly global workforce in our industry requires an active commitment to trust over control. Two of the most important virtues in how we manage at Rancho are enablement and empowerment, areas we have been focused on enhancing, in the past year and will continue to, in the years ahead.
To support these values, we have focused heavily on bringing in new, collaborative tools to help our global team operate cohesively and with a consistent experience. Just as importantly, we’ve worked hard to streamline our internal processes, intentionally stripping away unnecessary bureaucracy to foster a culture of ownership for our leaders at all levels, as well as our individual contributors. When we remove friction, we empower our experts to do what they do best: provide top-tier service to our clients.
Elevating the Employee Experience
While we are celebrating this fifth consecutive milestone, we treat our culture the same way our scientists treat data: we analyze it, look for gaps, and iterate. True culture work is never "done."
To that end, we have been doing a lot of heavy lifting behind the scenes to build stronger, more robust total rewards and exploring new social engagement & recognition programs to better honor the exceptional work our team delivers. We still have more work to do on this front, and we will continue to use the direct feedback from this assessment and our internal surveys to guide those priorities.
Looking Ahead
This achievement belongs entirely to our Ranchers - the collaborative, brilliant, and humble professionals who choose to bring their best selves to Rancho BioSciences every single day. Thank you to everyone on the team for making this culture what it is, and for trusting us to keep building it together.
